Overview:

Two days into Operation CITADEL, orders for Grenadier-Regiment 508, Infanterie-Division 292 were to break through the Soviet second defensive belt by taking the center and southern portion of Ponyri, then to continue a kilometer further, allowing Panzer-Division 18 to break out to the south. Besides the train station, the imposing schoolhouse that controlled the southern end of the town had to be neutralized. Barring the German advance was the fresh 1019th Rifle Regiment, with the guns of the 13th Anti-Tank Artillery Brigade placed well forward, and ample artillery support of all calibers.

2025-08-09(A) Kermit Mullins vs Dan Best German win3.5 hrsGerman attack was a bit overpowering. The Russians lightly defended the north and the Germans quickly gobbled up buildings up there and then swung towards the south. in the south the initial smoke screen shield the main German assault which secured those buildings and moved towards the victory building. The 10-2 and assorted artillery clobbered the Russians that were out front. By Turn 4, the Germans had 30 buildings and were converging on the victory location. The Russians had lost all their machine guns and were down to two officers. The Germans had all of their AFV's and it was clear that they would secure the final building.

2025-04-24(A) walter mcwilliams vs Tony Hutton German winA really good scenario with a lot of maneuver for bothsides. Neither Tony's Russian's nor my Germans had a moment to breathe. I was able to keep all three tanks mobile to the end game allowing me to surround the victory area and cut routs.
