Overview:

Major General Leland S. Hobbs' 30th Infantry Division kicked of Operation COBRA with and attack near Hébécrevon. Even after the short bombing which killed over 300 American troops, the early advances gave VII Corps commander General "Lightning Joe" Collins cause for encouragement; while the Germans of 7. Armee were fiercely holding their positions, these positions did not seem to form a continuous line and were susceptible to being outflanked or bypassed. One of these positions was held by a scratch force led by Eastern Front veteran Oberst Albert Kentner-who was known as a "...good engineer, but not much of a soldier."
Attacker: American (Companies I 1nd K, 119th Infantry Regiment,30th Infantry Division and Company D, 743rd Tank Battalion)

2025-07-14(D) Andy Bagley vs Neil Brunger German winInteresting scenario, and quite tricky with the bocage, although it seems tough for the Americans against a competent German defence. In our game, the Americans concentrated their attack in the centre and initially made very good progress. But I was able to fall back slowly and halted the Americans in the village, where they were unable to shift my units with the HMG and MMG. The Americans captured a number of other buildings, but with no real chance of shifting the German units on the hill or exiting in strength, they conceded on Turn 5.
2025-04-06(A) Indy Lagu vs Colin Jeschke German winI walked right into the teeth of Colin's defenders and
he made me pay. He played quite well and quickly
blunted my attack...I didn't really make any progress.

I would certainly play this again, and I'd like to attack
again to see if I can come up with a workable plan.
2025-02-14(D) John Garlic vs Mike Grogan German win
2025-02-02(A) nathan wegener vs Wes Vaughn American winNot much of a battle. Got a few key rolls and it was over quick. Not much there to stop the Americans.
2025-01-25(A) Larry Rohlfing vs Jim Vasilou American win
