Overview:

Operation SILBERFUCHS was launched on 29 June. This was the German-Finnish effort to capture Murmansk and the Murmansk railroad. The German Mountain Corps Norway had crossed the border and consisted of two tough and battle-tested German mountain divisions. However, the Germans had counted on supply roads that did not actually work as such. The mountain troops could not move much faster than a kilometer per hour. By 4 July, the Germans had successfully established a bridgehead across a river in the rocky northern terrain almost devoid of tree growth. Plans to proceed would have to wait as the Soviets launched a series of attacks including an amphibious landing on the Rybachry peninsula which threatened the German flank.

2025-08-23(A) S. Slunt vs Tim Osborne German win4.5 hrsRussian plan to HW towards the Buildings never happened , the Germans were able to continually break up the HW set up. KIA;s and rates decimated the Russians during the first Russian turns. The Germans were able to kill out right 4 squads buy turn 2 and the Commissars ended up Killing 2 squads of his own troops
Rules allow for the Russians to pick 2 commissars (Did not help). The game came down to 2 close combats in two buildings. The Germans were able to ambush are with draw to an open building to stop the Russians from winning.

2025-03-23(A) Asad Rustum vs Grant Linneberg Russian win
2025-01-23(D) Michael Rodgers vs David GarvinA Russian winSoviets threatened all three objectives at the beginning, but later focussed on the center buildings.
2024-12-05(D) Andy Bagley vs Mike GroganA Russian winInteresting scenario with a 'mind games' element in that the German player does not know the Russian VCs until they become apparent during the game. We gave the Russians the balance based on previous results.
The Russians attacked on both flanks early, making me think the hilltops were his objectives, but then shifted to the centre, so I knew by about Turn 3 that he was after the victory buildings. The Russians took casualties from flanking fire (at least until my mortar malf'd), and I was able to shift some reinforcements back to the centre, so thought I'd be able to hold. And I would have just held on, but in a last-turn CC his conscript squad managed to ambush my 9-1 leader and squad (!) in one of the buildings. He then rolled a 3 DR to wipe me out, winning control of the last building and with it the game. Great fun though.
