Overview:

The German offensive to retake Kharkov put the Russian Voronezh Front in disarray. Shortages of fuel and ammo hampered the Russians. The siutation got worse on March 13th when the Grossdeutschland Division attacked north of Kharkov along the seam between the 40th and 69th Armies. Penetrating deep into the Russian lines, the armored elements, including a company of Tigers, turned northeast in the direction of Tomarovka. The Russian command committed the 3rd Guards Tank Corps to slow down the German advance.

2025-03-28(A) Dan Owsen vs Jeff C German winInteresting all-vehicle scenario. Seemed a good intro to the SK vehicle rules. Seems like it would be very different with full ASL rules for burning wrecks, hull down maneuvers and reverse movement.
2025-01-28(D) Chris Larkin vs German winSome lucky early long distance shots from the Tigers and it was an uphill battle for the Russians for there. Fun little intro to vehicle combat. Recommend
2024-10-20(D) Nicolas Leste-Lasserre vs Russian win
2024-02-02(A) Justin DiSabatino vs Russian winA second round at this one to try a different strategy with the Russians. Both sides started out in a similar fashion, though the Russians bunched up more in the center to force the Germans to pull their line in closer in case all of the Russian tanks rushed one side. By Turn 2, the score was tied as most of the Russians went west but two pushed east to force the Germans to keep tanks on the eastern flank or concede the two VP. On Turn 3, poor shots by the Germans combined with a Russian tank that set up as support (and took out two German tanks) meant that it became impossible for the Germans to win as six of the Russian tanks were set to exit. A fun scenario to focus on only AFVs, but ready to move on to combined arms.
2024-01-29(D) Justin DiSabatino vs German winMy first scenario with AFVs, so I will be playing this one again now that I have a better understanding of the rules. The Russians came on in two groups, one on each flank, to ensure the Germans had to cover a wide front to stop them breaking through for VP. The Germans set up in a wide line, with a Tiger on each flank to anchor the PZIVs. By Russian turn 2, the Germans managed to take out three Russian tanks but the Russians were positioned to make a run for the map edge and one of the Tigers malf'd its MA. It all fell apart on German Turn 2 when the MA was repaired and both Tigers kept rate while destroying a tank with every shot (4 total).
