Overview:
Having secured the area near the railroad tunnel, but rebuffed with heavy casualties in their effort to turn northwards and attack up Smith's Ridge toward Hill 56, Fox Company was forced to dig in for the night on the gains they had made. Lt. Anderson's 2nd Platoon, down to 72 combat effective men, and Lt Nolan's 1st Platoon, with only seven men remaining, dug in alongside one another with Captain Peter's few CP personnel present within this overall perimeter. Lt Belbusti, commanding 3rd Platoon, with about 20 effectives, was positioned not far away.Attacker: North Korean (Seoul City Regiment, the 78th Independent Infantry Brigade and the 25th Infantry Brigade)
